A medical visa is granted for the purpose of receiving medical treatment. The visa is valid for one year with three entries, and the patient must register once they are in the nation.
If you seek medical care in India, make sure you go to a reputable/recognized/specialized hospital/treatment centre.

Up to two attendants, who must be family members or close relatives/associates, may accompany the applicant on separate Medical Attendant Visas with the same validity as the Medical Visa.

Only if the patient requires additional treatment or if the doctor believes it necessary for the patient to remain in the country for a few days/weeks/months longer to complete his or her full recovery can the medical visa be extended. Along with other documents, a letter from a recognized/reputable hospital where the therapy is received, explicitly stating the duration of the treatment and the term of extension required.
